Lost or stolen keys in Barcelona
This is not the same intent as changing a worn lock. The aim is to cancel copies you no longer control and lock up again with new keys.
If you have lost the bunch or it was taken, anyone with that key can try to get in. The urgent job is to take that cylinder out of service.
In most Barcelona flats replacing the cylinder is enough: the lock body stays and the old keys stop working. If the door was forced, the shield is wrecked or a damaged multipoint lock is involved, the whole set must change.
Send a photo of the lock face. We can see whether it is TESA, CISA, Lince, Mottura or another brand we work and tell you parts + fitting before we leave.
When the cylinder is enough and when it is not
Replace only the cylinder
The leaf closes well, the latch enters and there is no pry damage. A new cylinder cancels the copies.
Change the whole lock
Forced door, broken keep, misaligned multipoint or an already worn lock. The body will not hold a new cylinder.
After a burglary
We change the access they used and check store room, letterbox and safe if those keys were on the same bunch.
Former tenant or copies in circulation
Same logic as a loss: you do not need a new lock if the hardware is sound.
What to do after a theft or a loss
Do not leave the old key live
Even if the bunch turns up the next day, those copies have been out of your control.
Hand out only the new keys
The set we leave is the one you control. If the community needs a street-door copy, that is a separate job.
Report a crime if there was one
We do not replace a police report. The locksmith work leaves the access locked; the paperwork is yours.

Can I wait until tomorrow?
Not if the keys may be in someone else’s hands. That is what the 24-hour service is for.
